How SMEs can gain from ‘one belt, one road’

While government officials are urging the private sector to seize opportunities from China’s plan to build an Asia-Europe economic corridor, many small entrepreneurs think the massive scheme is limited to large corporations and multinationals in the finance and infrastructure sector.

But even big projects need support from a variety of small companies.

The service sector is a prime example.

Small and medium-sized enterprises in professional services such as accounting and risk management are set to gain from the “one belt, one road” project, Hong Kong Commercial Daily says.

Green energy is another.

Accordingly, some Hong Kong companies are involved in building LNG (liquified natural gas) stations to promote the use of this type of clean energy.
