A drunken spree ended badly for a foreigner who stole a minibus and abandoned it.
The man, identified only as Patrick, landed in police arrest, then hospital and probably without a clue what happened the night before.
It all began when he boarded a parked minibus in Causeway Bay, threw out the driver and drove away with the vehicle.
The incident happened at about 5 a.m. on Sunday as Patrick emerged from nowhere after having too much to drink, according to Ming Pao Daily.
The 64-year-old driver, surnamed Chiu, said he could only watch with amazement as Patrick took off in the Route 4A minibus from its Lockhart Road stand.
Chiu called the police who found the bus abandoned in Stubbs Road, several kilometers away, with a shattered window.
They arrested Patrick and brought him to a hospital with injuries to his hands and knees.
He was booked on suspicion of carjacking, assault and for refusing to give a blood sample.
