Man arrested in Rolex watch robbery, accomplice escapes

Police arrested one of two robbery suspects who relieved a man of his Rolex Datejust watch, Apple Daily reported Wednesday.

The robbery took place in Yau Ma Tei at midnight Wednesday.

Two men of South Asian origin approached a 40-year-old man and hit him in the head with a rod before taking his watch, the report said.

The duo then fled in opposite directions on Nathan Road.

The victim, with a great deal of blood on his face, chased one of the men, who was later subdued across the road from Sino Centre by a passerby and several construction workers.

Police came and arrested the suspect.

The victim was sent to hospital.

But the other robber managed to get away with his watch, the report said.
