HK tourist accuses Kenting guest house owner of molestation

The owner of a guest house in southern Taiwan’s Kenting beach area has been arrested by local police after he was accused of molesting a female Hong Kong tourist, Headline Daily reported on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old woman surnamed Wong said in a Facebook post that she arrived in Kenting with a male friend last Thursday and they checked into separate rooms at Kenting 2 Room Hostel.

On Sept. 5, the 63-year-old owner surnamed Ouyang offered to give her a ride on his motorcycle after learning that she wanted to take a walk along Wanlitong Beach.

When they arrived at the beach, Ouyang started hugging and kissing Wong, and even groping her thighs and breasts, while paying her compliments in an apparent attempt to make her yield to his advances, the woman said.

Shocked, Wong broke free and ran to a nearby store for help.

Responding policemen arrested Ouyang, who denied having behaved indecently.

Police filed a charge of compulsory indecency against him and collected samples of his DNA for forensic examination.

After returning to Hong Kong, Wong shared her horrible experience online and called on people to stay away from the guest house.

Taiwan’s Kenting beach area is a popular destination for Hong Kong tourists.
