Swiss watch brand Roger Dubuis plans to expand its business in Hong Kong and Macau even as some other luxury retailers are scaling down their presence in the market due to falling sales.
Roger Dubuis, which entered Hong Kong in 2000, currently has four stores in the city and three in Macau.
The company aims to step up its retail presence in the region through addition of more stores.
In Macau, the watch retailer, whose products are priced in the range of HK$150,000 to HK$10 million, plans to boost its store number by two next year.
As for mainland China, Chief Executive Jean-Marc Pontroué told the Hong Kong Economic Journal that his firm is taking a long-term view on that market, given the expected rise in the ranks of well-heeled shoppers in the country.
Roger Dubuis will open a new store in Nanjing next year, after opening a first outlet in Beijing in July this year.
Overall, Roger Dubuis aims to become one of the top five brands of high-end watches in the world in five years, the CEO said in an interview.
