A powerful explosion hit a warehouse in the northeastern port city of Tianjin, where massive blasts left more than 160 people dead just two months ago.
The latest incident occurred at a warehouse storing “alcohol materials” in Beichen District’s Xiditou Township, Agence France-Presse said, citing a report from the official Xinhua news agency.
Police received a report of an explosion at 9:46 p.m. local time, but by the early hours of Tuesday morning the fire had been put out and no casualties had yet been reported, the report said.
The explosion became a trending topic on local social media platforms.
A total of 165 people died as a result of explosions at a hazardous goods storage facility in Tianjin on Aug. 12.
