Tuen Mun gangsters force man to eat joss paper and incense ash

An unseemly side of Hong Kong is shown in two video clips that have gone viral on social media since Tuesday night.

Both show a man described as a debt collector who is apparently being forced to eat joss paper and drink soda laced with incense ash by a group of village gangsters, Ming Pao Daily reported.

In one footage, which lasts about two minutes and 50 seconds, the man with blonde-dyed hair and tattoos in his arms is seen munching joss paper and incense ash.

He appears to be in pain and tearful as he engages in the task at the behest of men whose faces are not shown.

According to the conversation caught in the video clip, the man was supposed to collect debt on behalf of other people.

According to some netizens, the scene was taken from a walled village somewhere in Tuen Mun.

In the second video clip, which lasts about two minutes and 15 seconds, the same man is being verbally abused by men around him and told to drink from a Coke bottle laced with incense ash.

The gangsters tell the man his mistake was not knowing what kind of place he stepped into.

Some netizens urged the police to examine the video clips and track down the culprits.
