Unlucky thief ends with injured leg after fall from window ledge

It is certainly one escapade that the burglar won’t forget in a long time.

In the early hours of Monday, a man scoping out robbery targets at a Mong Kok residential block got a nasty shock as he suddenly came face to face with the inmate of an apartment.

The flat occupant, seeing a strange person in the night just outside his window, gave a loud scream, causing the thief to panic and lose his balance from his perch on a second-floor ledge.

The unlucky person then came crashing to the ground, putting an end to his night-time escapade.

The thief, a 32-year-old who bears the surname Cheung, attempted to flee but was unable to do so as he had hurt his leg due to the fall from the window ledge.

So when police arrived at the scene, they didn’t have much trouble in picking up the man and bundling him into a van.

The incident took place at the building located on Tung Choi Street, Headline Daily reports.

Cheung is now in hospital undergoing treatment for his injuries. He will later face charges of attempted burglary.

The police, meanwhile, are investigating if he was involved in other burglaries in the district in the past.
