Five airport cargo workers arrested for stealing Star Wars toys

Police arrested five workers at the cargo terminal of Hong Kong International Airport after they were caught stealing toys based on the BB-8 droid, a new character in the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

A security guard at Super Terminal 1 saw the five men, aged between 22 and 49, putting five boxes of the toys into a car at about 3 a.m. Tuesday, Apple Daily reported Wednesday.

Suspicious, the guard called police.

Officers who arrived at the scene found the boxes contained toy BB-8 droids that had just been shipped into Hong Kong.

The droids, which can be remotely controlled by a mobile phone or by voice, feature wireless charging.

They can also record video messages that can be sent to other owners of the droid.

The toys are sold at HK$1,180 (US$152) each in Hong Kong.
