Stressed Norwegian jumps to death after sleepless nights

A Norwegian man jumped to his death from his apartment after several sleepless nights.

The 36-year-old man, identified only as Erik, had been diagnosed with mood disorder exacerbated by work-related stress, Ming Pao Daily reports.

Erik was a manager of a multinational information technology company and lived with his Malaysian girlfriend and their young daughter in a Grand Promenade apartment in Sai Wan Ho.

He had been undergoing treatment for his condition but had seen little improvement.

Erik had suffered from insomnia several days before he jumped out of a window of his flat on Tuesday as his girlfriend was preparing breakfast.

He was found unconscious on a podium floor and was brought to hospital where he was certified dead.
