North Point flats find buyers but at hefty discounts

A three-bedroom seaview apartment in North Point has been sold for 20 percent less than the asking price.

The buyer paid HK$13 million (US$1.68 million) for the 1,073 square foot flat in Provident Center, 13 percent below market price.

At that level, the unit price is comparable to those in the New Territories, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reports.

The owner was asking for HK$16.3 million in September but cut the price to HK$14.5 million two months later.

Another North Point flat, an 893 sq. ft. unit in Seaview Garden, went for HK$10.5 million after the seller slashed the asking price 26 percent.

The final price is 10 percent below market prices.

The owner bought the apartment for HK$5.45 million in 2009.
