Facebook groups help man recover stolen motorcycle

A motorcycle owner was able to retrieve his lost vehicle with a little help from Facebook friends.

Several days ago, Terry Wong, who works for an insurance company, parked his Yamaha T-Max on Lung Wo Road in Admiralty. He put a cover on the bike before he left, but forgot to take out the key from the ignition slot.

When he returned to retrieve the bike nine hours later, it was gone.

Wong immediately posted messages and pictures of his stolen bike on several Facebook groups.

His effort soon bore fruit. A netizen spotted the bike underneath a footbridge in Kowloon Bay at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Wong was extremely delighted to have found his lost bike, which he bought for HK$100,000 in 2013.

He said he was very grateful for the generous help of netizens.
