A second man in five days has committed suicide by jumping off Ting Kau Bridge, Apple Daily reported Wednesday.
The 57-year-old man, surnamed Yeung, got into a taxi in Tin Shui Wai on Tuesday afternoon and asked the driver to go to the airport.
When the taxi reached Ting Kau Bridge, Yeung said he did not feel very well and vomited.
Yeung asked the driver to stop on the bridge, left his identification card in the taxi and quickly got out, telling the driver to notify his family.
He immediately jumped off the bridge.
The driver was stunned and called police.
Police retrieved Yeung’s body from the water. He was confirmed dead in hospital.
Yeung’s relatives told police he had been unhappy recently, because of financial difficulties.
On Friday last week, a 34-year-old insurance company manager killed himself by jumping off the same bridge.
It was suspected that he had been unable to accept his divorce.
