Filipina says boss who masturbated behind her offered hush money

A Filipino domestic helper said she refused a payoff in exchange for deleting a secret video of her employer exposing himself and masturbating in her presence.

The 29-year-old woman, identified in a writ as “X”, said the offer was made by her employer’s wife, Apple Daily reports, citing court documents.

The video clip was played in evidence in court in connection with indecent assault and common assault charges brought by the woman against her employer.

The defendant, surnamed Shek, allegedly fondled his private parts behind “X” several times in 2014 in the kitchen of his Mong Kok home.

Fearing rape, the woman secretly set up a camera in the kitchen.

In one clip, the man is shown taking out his penis and masturbating as “X” is cooking.

The incident had occurred several times previously but “X” could not report it to the authorities for fear of being harmed by her employer, the court heard.

She filed a report to a social worker and the police after she quit her job.

Shek, who runs a trading company, pleaded not guilty to four counts of indecent assault and one count of common assault between Feb. 26 and March 3, 2014.

The Department of Justice allowed the case to proceed after “X” won a judicial review against its decision not to prosecute Shek, citing insufficient evidence.

Testifying at the hearing, “X” said Shek apologized to her and his wife offered to pay her agency fee in exchange for deleting the video clip.

She refused and walked out of the flat.

Shek followed her, holding a baby and pleading for forgiveness for the sake of the child, the court heard.

The defense lawyer said “X” had demanded HK$100,000 (US$12,870) from the couple, a charge the helper denied.

The hearing continues.
