Online buzz as HK dad offers virtual biking experience to child

A Hong Kong man has won the hearts of millions of netizens with his thoughtfulness and hard work as he went the extra mile to entertain his young daughter and keep the child happy.

In a visual clip that is doing the rounds on social media, the man is seen holding a baby’s bicycle, with his daughter onboard and wearing a helmet, in front of a large TV screen playing a mountain-biking video.

The move was aimed at simulating for the little girl the rocking and bumping activity involved in the extreme sport, Ming Pao Daily News noted.

The daughter, who is said to be four-and-a-half years in age, was apparently having a good time as she was giggling and laughing constantly as her dad was doing his best to offer a virtual biking experience.

The video has been shared by more than 34,000 people in just 13 hours after it was posted on Facebook.

As of 2 pm Thursday, the short clip was viewed 5.9 million times the world over, with people leaving comments in Korean, Thai, Spanish and other languages.

Netizens commented that the dad’s idea was brilliant as it offers enough physical exercise for the kid while also helping boost parent-child bonding.

Some people remarked that the dad — identified as “Newman” — appeared to be having more fun than his daughter.
