Two suspects attacked by knifemen outside Central police station

Two men charged with conspiracy to blackmail were attacked by three knife-wielding men outside of the Central police station on Wednesday afternoon.

No one was injured in the incident. The two men rushed back to the police station where they had renewed their bail procedures, while the attackers escaped in a private car, Headline Daily reports.

Police said they found two pieces of clothing, a mask and a hat believed to have been left behind by the attackers.

The police are examining video clips from the station’s surveillance cameras to try to determine the identities of the attackers.

The two men were arrested on Jan. 28 in connection with a conspiracy to blackmail case and were subsequently released on bail.

They were said to be followers of an ally of alleged former triad boss Kwok Wing-hung, also known as Shanghai Boy, sources told Apple Daily.
