Cabin attendants on a Cathay Pacific flight from Singapore to Hong Kong were handed a tricky task after passengers complained about an intolerable smell.
The smell had filled the entire cabin when some of the 300 passengers began to throw up, Apple Daily reports.
But it was all handled very well — and very gingerly — by the cabin crew.
Armed with double face masks and tongs, they removed the offending matter — fist-sized human feces on the floor outside the toilet — scrubbed the carpet and sprayed the cabin with deodorizer.
But it had been at least 30 interminable minutes of nasal torture for everyone, especially as some traces of the pooh stubbornly stuck to the carpet and took some doing to clean, according to a passenger, surnamed Chan.
Chan said he woke up to an overpowering smell about an hour before the plane was scheduled to land at Hong Kong airport on Friday.
There were noises and chaotic scenes worthy of a biohazard emergency as the foul odor began to spread across the cabin, he said.
In the end, the flight attendants were praised for rising to the challenge.
But the culprit remains a mystery.
