Marine police save suicidal maid in Western District

Marine police rescued an overstaying Indonesian domestic helper who jumped into the waters off Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park in the Western District in the early hours of Tuesday, news website hk01.com reports.

The maid was brought to the Western District Public Cargo Working Area before she was sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment and observation.

Police said the maid appeared emotional and apparently attempted to kill herself after breaking up with her boyfriend recently.

It was also learned that she has violated her conditions of stay.
