A Pakistani security guard charged with the murder of his 25-year-old Filipino girlfriend will undergo police interrogation more than three months after her death.
Safdar Husnain, 27, is scheduled to meet with police officers on July 5 after doctors at the Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre confirmed on June 17 that he was fit for police interrogations, Apple Daily reports.
Husnain has been charged with the murder of Andrea Bayr, a half-Austrian and mother of three, at a construction site on Tin Hau Road in Tuen Mun on March 29.
He allegedly used an electric drill in bludgeoning Bayr after she told him she wanted to end their relationship.
It was reported that Husnain was still attacking Bayr, who was lying on the ground in a puddle of blood, when police officers arrived at the scene.
According to singtaousa.com, Bayr was hit five to six times on the head, causing her serious bone fractures.
On Monday Husnain was sent to the Tuen Mun Magistracy for the mention of the case.
The case was adjourned until Aug. 22 pending the DNA, toxicology and autopsy reports on the deceased.
