Is it a giant toilet? New Henan building sparks online mirth

A new building that has come up at a university in China’s Henan province has drawn much attention and a lot of online chatter on the mainland.

The reason: the freshly-completed structure looks like a giant toilet in terms of design, when seen from above.

After someone uploaded an aerial photo of the building, which is located on the campus of the North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power in Zhengzhou city, it quickly went viral.

Netizens were beside themselves with mirth as they noted that a rectangular portion of the building at the back resembled a water tank while the front part looked like a toilet bowl.

Moreover, the eave of the bowl-shaped structure looked like a toilet seat, Xinhuanet.com noted.

Online forums lit up with comments, with some netizens complimenting the architect for his inadvertent sense of humor while others made more sarcastic remarks.

A person wondered if the design made for good fengshui.

Well, you can take a look at the accompanying pictures and judge for yourself!
