An African-American visitor to Hong Kong was arrested after he brandished a six-inch knife at an MTR staffer who advised him against boarding a train with a baggage cart.
Police officers from the Airport Security Unit tried to calm the 37-year-old man named before arresting him for possession of an offensive weapon, public broadcaster RTHK reports.
The man was seen boarding an Airport Express train to AsiaWorld-Expo station from the airport with a baggage cart to carry his luggage.
An MTR staffer approached and told him that no baggage cart is allowed onboard.
He refused to cooperate and a dispute between the two ensued.
Then the man took out a six-inch knife from his waist and started waving it at the station employee.
He proceeded to board the train with the baggage cart, prompting the MTR staffer to call for police assistance.
According to Apple Daily, a police constable at the AsiaWorld-Expo station accompanied the man on the same train back to the airport station, where a team of six officers from Airport Security Unit was standing by to arrest him.
An MTR spokesman said the express train service was unaffected by the incident.
