Dama arrested at Kunming airport after attack on airline worker

A Spring Airlines passenger was arrested at Kunming Airport for injuring a member of the ground staff who told her her luggage was oversized, news website xinmin.cn reports.

The middle-aged female passenger, surnamed Fan, was about to board flight 9C8938 headed for Shijiazhuang, the capital of northern China’s Hebei province, on Tuesday afternoon, when a male airline employee, surnamed Tao, noticed that she was carrying three large suitcases and told her she should have checked them in.

Fan got angry and attacked Tao with a cup she was carrying, causing the employee’s forehead to bleed.

Airport police officers rushed to the scene and arrested Fan for investigation.

Spring Airlines said it condemned any violent behavior and would take all necessary actions to protect its staff.
