Filipina plunges to death while cleaning window

A Filipino domestic helper fell to her death while cleaning a window in a 49th floor flat in LOHAS Park.

The 35-year-old woman, surnamed Dulluog, was found unconscious on the podium of the Hemera apartment bloc and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The accident happened around 8 a.m. Monday, Apple Daily reports.

Investigators found a bucket of water, some cleaning agents and rags near an open window on the balcony of the apartment, according to Sing Tao Daily.

Dulluog might have leaned over the railing and lost her balance, investigators said.

She was apparently alone at the time of the accident. Police have ruled out foul play.

Bo Lai-wan, vice president of the Hong Kong Domestic Workers General Union, said anyone should not go beyond an arm’s length when cleaning windows.

They should not use stools to reach difficult areas or support themselves on widow frames, let alone climb railings, she said.
