Two injured as truck ploughs through Hung Hom sidewalk

A cargo truck collided with a private car before breaking street railings and leaping onto the sidewalk along Hung Hom Road on Tuesday night, news website hk01.com reports.

The truck was heading in the direction of To Kwa Wan when the accident took place around 6 p.m., sending pedestrians scampering for safety.

The crash deformed the left front wheel of the truck and wrecked a rubbish bin and a road sign. It stopped just several meters away from a bank.

The truck driver was not injured, but the driver and a passenger of the orange car had to be taken to a hospital after complaining of waist and neck pain.
