Burglars smashed the glass door of a Chanel store in Causeway Bay and ransacked the shop, carting away an estimated HK$2 million worth of handbags, watches and jewelry, police said.

Security guards called the police after finding glass shards and other items scattered on the floor of the store at Lee Garden on Hysan Avenue, TVB News reports.

The burglary took place at around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the report said.

According to Apple Daily, the burglars broke several glass showcases to get the merchandise inside.
