Breast-assault woman ordered to do community work

A woman found guilty of assaulting a police officer with her breasts has been ordered by a judge to 200 hours of community service.

Ng Lai-ying had her 3-1/2-month jail sentence quashed by the High Court last month, RTHK reports.

She had been convicted  by a lower court of committing the offense during a protest against parallel traders in Yuen Long in March last year when she bumped her chest against the officer’s right arm.

The High Court also overturned the sentence against a male defendant for assaulting the police and ordered him to perform 200 hours of community service.

Two other male defendants, including Ng’s boyfriend, were each placed on probation for one-year for obstructing police during the rowdy protest.

Madam Justice Judianna Barnes said they showed remorse and deserve a second chance.
