Creepy Clown producer apologizes for ‘stupid’ prank

Creepy Clown has made its way to Hong Kong after scaring people in the United States, Australia and Britain.

But Hong Kong people are not amused, news website hk01.com reports.

The prank videos were uploaded to a Facebook page called Tung Chung Future and quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons.

The clip shows a clown chasing passers-by in dark places.

Netizens said it was a “stupid thing to do”.

They vowed to find the uploader and report him to the police.

Police said citizens can call for help if they feel threatened.

Barrister Albert Luk said the culprit could be prosecuted for loitering.

Section 160 of the Crime Ordinance states that loitering in common areas of a building with intent to commit an offence can lead to up to two years in jail.

By Monday morning, the video had been deleted. No untoward incident was reported and the video producer apologized.
