Ralph Lauren closes flagship shop in Lee Gardens in sudden move

Men’s fashion house Ralph Lauren closed its flagship shop at the Lee Gardens Mall in Causeway early this month.

“We are moving out of the Lee Gardens Mall,” wrote an unnamed customer assistant at Ralph Lauren Asia who responded to EJ Insight’s inquiry by email.

“We are closing for now to explore new and exciting channels,” the email said.

“Our Prince’s Building and Peninsula Hotel stores will continue to be at your service.”

The American brand declined to comment on whether the closure of its Lee Gardens shop is related to declining sales.

It also did not comment on whether it will open another flagship store in Hong Kong soon.

It said customers can still find its products in other Hong Kong locations

The recently closed flagship store, covering 20,000 square feet, was opened in September 2014.

It was decorated New York-style and offered both men’s and women’s collections.

The web page of the company’s Lee Gardens shop has been removed.
