Pizza delivery man killed in Kwai Chung collision

A 25–year-old pizza delivery man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a tow truck in Kwai Chung.

The accident took place at about 8 p.m. on Monday when the man, surnamed Kwok, was doing a delivery for Pizza Hut, where he began working just two months ago, Apple Daily reports.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead 30 minutes later. The driver of the trailer was arrested for “dangerous driving causing death”.

Kwok, who is survived by his parents and a younger brother, was the family’s sole bread winner, leaving them in financial distress.

Kwok was travelling near the intersection of Kai Fuk Road and Shing Fuk Street.

The collision knocked off his helmet, leaving him with severe head injuries, investigators said.

Police are calling on any witnesses to come forward.

Kwok worked three part-time jobs, including warehouse keeper and swimming instructor, to support his family.

His parents are unable to work due to physical problems and his brother is still in school.

Pizza Hut paid Kwok HK$42 (US$5.42) an hour.
