Mainland immigrant mother told off by Singaporean doctor

Police had to be called in when a Chinese immigrant mother barged into a clinic in Singapore without queueing up and got into a fight with a doctor.

The mother brought her 20-month-old daughter to the clinic and had left the premises only to come back, unsure about the drug dosage the doctor had given them, Metropolis Daily reports.

This time, she jumped the queue and stormed into the doctor’s room, the report said.

“This is not China,” the doctor is said to have told off the woman.

A video clip of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Singaporean netizens agreed with the doctor’s actions while some mainland Chinese said he had insulted China.

Others said the answer to her question should have taken less than a few seconds and a quarrel could have been avoided.

Mainland news website thepaper.cn raised privacy issues, saying there were other people in the room.

The clip was taken by the woman’s Singaporean husband. He denied that his wife barged into the clinic but in fact knocked on the door.

He said he disagreed with the doctor’s discriminatory remark.
