Man eager to get home for LNY bikes in wrong direction

Police stopped a man riding on a bicycle on an expressway and were shocked to find that he had been traveling for a month to get home for the Lunar New Year holiday — in the wrong direction.

The journey had taken him further, not closer to home, China News Service reports.

According to Cankaoxiaoxi.com, the man embarked on his ambitious trip from Rizhao city in Shandong province to his home town of Qiqihaer in Heilongjiang province.

Somehow, he was given incorrect information during the journey and took him a month to reach Wuhu city on Jan. 20 when he was stopped.

The local traffic police and staff at the toll station chipped in to the buy the man a train ticket.
