Four men cleared of charges in Jordan station knife attack

Three Indian men and a Pakistani charged with a 2015 knife attack in the Jordan MTR station were cleared by a judge who ruled that there were discrepancies and omissions in the witness identification procedure.

Satnam Singh, 33, Jaswinder Singh, 25, and Vikramjit Singh, 26, were released after the judge said the defendants were incorrectly identified by witnesses.

Also, they could not be clearly seen in the CCTV footage, Sing Tao Daily reports.

Another defendant, 30-year-old Amandip Singh, pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing on Thursday.

Vikramjit Singh faced a charge of obstruction of justice, along with Pakistani Waheed Kan for threatening a witness not to testify in court. Both were cleared of the charges.

The attack happened on Sept. 19, 2015 when a group of nine to 10 men approached three men at the Jordan MTR platform and began stabbing and slashing them with knives.

The victims, all South Asian, suffered serious injuries.
