A 48-year-old cosmetic surgeon is on trial at the Eastern magistrates’ court, charged with sexually harassing a nursing assistant.
Lam Wai-kong is facing three counts of indecent assault, Headline Daily reports.
The plaintiff said Lam sexually harassed her three times on July 9 and Aug. 3 last year.
In one incident, Lam allegedly brushed up against her in an elevator where they were the only passengers.
After she was harassed twice more in the office, she decided to call the police.
The court heard that Lam touched the woman’s chest when she went into his office to get some documents. She stepped back and left the room.
On the same day, Lam allegedly touched her bottom when he asked her into his office to transfer some photos to his computer.
When questioned by a colleague, Lam said his actions were like “doing a high five” after a successful surgery.
The defense said the woman’s testimony in the elevator incident did not match footage from a security camera.
Also, it questioned why the plaintiff did not call the police at the first instance. She replied that she did not want to lose her job.
Lam was vice chairman of the Association of Doctors in Aesthetic Medicine in 2016, according to its website.
