Police have arrested a domestic helper from the Philippines after she was accused of stealing women’s clothing from her employer.

The 41-year-old the woman named Maria was seen acting suspiciously by a security guard outside her employer’s Repulse Bay Road mansion, Sing Tao Daily reports. She was about to leave the house with a big luggage.

After stopping her, the guard found that the bag was full of expensive women’s clothing, which he suspected did not belong to her.

The guard notified the employer who confirmed the clothes were hers and called the police.

The luggage contained 50 pieces of clothing worth about HK$30,000 (US$3,860.79).

The criminal investigation division of Western Police station is handling the case. The woman has been detained for theft.

According to Apple Daily, the mansion was bought by mainland businessman Liang Liangsheng, founder of Hong Kong-based conglomerate C-BONS Holding, for HK$115 million in 2001.

It is estimated to be worth up to HK$2 billion today, making it one of the most expensive properties in Hong Kong.
