Motorist’s botched bid to help woman cross a street goes viral

A kind-hearted motorist in Estonia was left squirming in embarrassment after his attempt to help an elderly woman cross a street didn’t exactly turn out the way he planned.

In a video clip that has been widely circulated on the internet this week, a driver is seen getting out of his car and rushing to help an old lady on crutches.

As he reached the woman and sought to assist her, his vehicle begins rolling forward, straight in the direction of the duo.

Apparently, the man forgot to put the handbrake on before stepping out of his car, resulting in the shocking moment.

Realizing that they were in danger of getting knocked down, the man desperately tries to stop the car by pressing himself against the vehicle.

As he was doing so, he accidentally lands a foot into the elderly lady, sending her crashing to the ground.

As the woman lay on the road, the man makes a desperate bid to stop the moving vehicle, using both his hands and a knee.

Two bystanders rush over to help the distraught woman and move her off the road. The car eventually comes to a stop, to the immense relief of the driver.

A fellow motorist captured the whole thing on camera and posted it online.

In the video clip, the red-faced driver can be seen giving the elderly lady a hug after the unfortunate incident.

According to reports, the video was recorded in Estonia’s Saare County.
