A Kowloon Motor Bus driver who became an internet sensation overnight after he was spotted sleeping on a railing, is a Shaolin kung fu master.
And as it turns out, he has the skills and the training to perform the acrobatic act, Ming Pao Daily reports.
Sing Gor, who is retired, is being compared to Yang Guo, the fictional protagonist in the martial arts novel, The Return Of The Condor Heroes, by Jin Yong.
Sing said he is not a descendant of Jin Yong’s martial clan but is in fact a student of Shaolin martial arts.
KMB uploaded a clip of an interview with Sing to Facebook where it continues to attract viewers. [See the video]
The interview shows Sing demonstrating how he sleeps on the narrow railing. He simply swings his feet across the railing and lie down as if on a flat surface.
Before retirement, Sing said he was a driver on the KMB 98D route.
He said he generally rests in the bus station rest area but he felt like going out for some fun on Tuesday. He decided to take a nap on a passenger railing at the Hang Hau bus station.
A photo of Sing’s feat, which has gone viral on social media, sparked concerns over the lack of facilities for bus drivers, forcing them to go out in search of a space to rest, news website the HK01.com reports.
