A Beijing woman suffered injuries after a drinking glass exploded in her face.
The woman, surnamed Wang, said she bought the Stelna glass from an IKEA store in Beijing’s Xihongmen district about a year ago, Sing Tao Daily reports.
Wang said the glass suddenly broke apart as she was about to drink warm water from it on the morning of May 20.
Her lips were injured and a tooth was damaged in the explosion.
Wang went to a hospital and received four stitches to her lips. She has asked IKEA to investigate.
In a statement, the furniture giant said it was deeply concerned about Wang’s case.
It said it will make proper compensation and recall the relevant product if the investigation finds any quality issues.
