Two people died and at least 55 injured after an explosion ripped through a noodle restaurant in Hangzhou city on Friday morning.
The blast damaged the street-side eatery and shattered the windows of passing vehicles and neighboring shops.
More than 20 passengers aboard a passing bus were injured, according to local media reports.
A video clip circulating on social media shows the restaurant engulfed in fire, with plumes of smoke rising into the air.
The explosion happened at 8.30 a.m. in Xihu district. The blast triggered a second explosion when a gas cylinder ignited, according to the fire department.
Among the injured, 12 were seriously hurt and have been sent to seven hospitals.
The fire was put out by firemen who arrived at the scene, the Hangzhou West Lake District Information Office said. The cause of the explosion is being investigated.
