Two Sha Tin college students arrested over marijuana smoking

Police arrested two students from a post-secondary college in Sha Tin on suspicion they were smoking marijuana inside their dormitory, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reports.

At around 2 a.m., April 12, a staffer of Hang Seng Management College reported to the police that some students were suspected of smoking marijuana in their on-campus residence.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested two male students, aged 21 and 22.

An apparatus intended for smoking marijuana and a small amount of hemp were seized in their room.

The two were charged with suspected possession of dangerous drugs before they were granted bail.

Both were told to report back to the police station at the end of May.

The school said it attaches great importance to students’ integrity and management of its dorms, stressing any suspected violation of school regulations will be dealt with seriously.
