Shuttle bus hits estate agent distributing flyers in Sai Kung

An estate agent working for Hong Kong Property Services was seriously injured after he was hit by a shuttle bus while distributing property leaflets by the roadside in Sai Kung.

The accident took place at around 6 p.m. Wednesday, when the property agent, 20, was standing by the side of Clear Water Bay Road across Mount Pavilia, a new private housing estate developed by New World Development, to give promotional leaflets to passing drivers, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reports.

As he was doing his job, a shuttle bus of the Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club suddenly hit him and threw him several meters away. The bus was bumped from behind by a private car immediately afterwards.

The victim lay unconscious in the middle of the road with blood coming out of his nose and mouth before paramedics arrived and took him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Expressing deep sympathy, Richard Lee, chief executive of Hong Kong Property Services, said his staff visited the employee at the hospital.

Mount Pavilia, a low-density luxury estate, has so far sold about 300 of its 680 flats.
