Macau authorities have on Thursday begun accepting applications in relation to cross-boundary vehicle crossing on the sea bridge that links the territory to Hong Kong and Zhuhai.
Applications will be accepted to fill a 600-unit quota for Macau-registered private cars for border crossings to Hong Kong on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, with half the quota reserved for companies and the other half for individuals.
Registered cars can use the bridge any number of times in a year.
The list of successful applicants will be announced on June 29 after a computer ballot.
Individual applicants can apply if they are Macau permanent residents owning a company in Hong Kong or having a job in Hong Kong.
As for companies, Macau-registered entities which own more than 50 percent stake in a Hong Kong subsidiary are eligible to apply.
All drivers designated in the application must have a valid license to drive light passenger vehicle in Macau.
Hong Kong had rolled out a similar arrangement in February but with only 300-quota in total.
