A famous travel writer has been accused of indecently assaulting a 22-year-old male student in a North Point office in July.
James Hong, 47, former director of Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong, was arrested on Monday, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reports.
Hong met the student at a book fair and offered him a job interview, the report said, citing sources.
The man attended the interview at an office building on King’s Road in North Point on July 25
The student claimed the suspect forcibly kissed him and touched his private parts during the interview. He reported the incident to the police on July 26.
Hong was arrested in North Point on Monday but was released on bail.
An Eastern District investigation team is handling the case which has been classified as indecent assault on a man.
Hong addressed the case on Tuesday, saying many fans have expressed their love and written love letters to him in the recent Book Fair, Apple Daily reports.
He said the whole incident could be a misunderstanding.
Hong has not been charged and police investigations are continuing. He said he would not make any further comment on the incident.
