Primary school teacher allegedly sent flirty messages to girl

A Yuen Long primary school teacher allegedly sent flirty WhatsApp messages to a primary six schoolgirl.

A netizen posted to a Facebook group on Monday images from a mobile phone screen capture purporting to show conversations between the male teacher and the girl, according to media reports.

The netizen said the girl is her sister who recently graduated from a primary school in Yuen Long. The man is a senior teacher at her sister’s school, who is believed to be retiring soon.

She said her sister received a WhatsApp message recently from the teacher saying he was at their home’s entrance, which the netizen found shocking.

The teacher is alleged to have actively sent flirty messages to the girl but never taught in her class.

The messages included “You’re my goddess”, “I miss you” and “You become prettiest when you smile”.

The netizen said her sister once told her the teacher held her hand and hugged her in front of her classmates, making her uncomfortable.

The girl did not refuse due to the teacher’s status, news website hk01.com reported.

The netizen said she had told the story to the school’s headmaster, who is understood to have questioned the teacher.

The teacher allegedly said he treated the girl like a daughter, explaining that his messages were made out of concern for the girl.

Many other online users urged the netizen to report the matter to the police but she said her sister was just too afraid to do it.

The netizen is waiting for a formal reply from the school’s headmaster.
