Student, 12, dies after collapsing during PE class

A 12-year-old student died after collapsing while jogging during a physical education (PE) class at Queen’s College in Causeway Bay.

The Secondary 1 student was found lying unconscious on the ground during his PE class at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. He was rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reported.

Police launched an initial investigation after arriving at the scene and found nothing suspicious. The boy was certified dead on arrival.

A post-mortem was expected to be conducted.
