Pinduoduo reports theft of online discount vouchers

Chinese social e-commerce firm Pinduoduo said on Sunday that an online collective exploited a loophole on its platform to “steal” tens of millions of yuan worth of discount vouchers.

According to a statement posted on its official Weibo account, Pinduoduo immediately rectified the bug and reported the incident to police, Reuters reports.

Pinduoduo, which listed on the Nasdaq in late July last year after a US$1.63 billion IPO, allows consumers to group together to get better discounts from merchants selling goods such as clothes, kitchenware and gadgets.
