Legco to review Covid-19 vaccine indemnity fund
The government is seeking HK$1 billion in funding from lawmakers to set up a Covid-19 vaccine indemnity fund.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam first announced the plan in December last year.
The fund aims at providing financial assistance to those who experience serious complications from Covid-19 vaccination.
People who suffer serious side effects could receive HK$2.5-3 million, while families could get up HK$2-2.5 million in fatal cases, a paper from the Food and Health Bureau revealed.
The finance committee of the Legislative Council is expected to go over the proposal next Friday.
The Centre for Health Protection yesterday said there were 16 additional COVID-19 cases.
