Apple will make 20% fewer iPhone SEs next quarter than originally planned, according to Nikkei Asia reports, due to an expected fall in demand as economic pressures from the Ukraine crisis may hit appetite for consumer electronics.

Disruption to supply chains as a result of the Ukraine war is also adding to the inflation pressure, which could discourage consumers from purchasing new gadgets.

The company will also make about 10 million fewer AirPods this year, the report noted.

While it can be seen as a sign that even the giant cannot be completely immune from major geopolitical risks, given the huge leverage that comes with being one of the biggest players, Apple can easily change track to ramp up production when a peaceful solution to the conflict is in sight.
