Oops... CCTV thinks Gundam is part of the Japanese military

Gundam, a popular Japanese animation series, has just been made part of Japan's Self-Defense Forces in a Chinese official video.
The mix-up was apparently made by an over-eager video editor of state broadcaster CCTV.
The clip shows a militarized Mobile Suit Gundam to introduce the Japanese military.
CCTV quickly removed the video but not before it had gone viral on the internet.
The mistake appeared in a June 30 program, called Focus Today, in a scene where a scholar is criticizing Japan's overconfidence, saying its national security law is directed at China.
Some netizens were quick to seize the moment, saying the Chinese army will lose with Gundam and comics heroes Ultraman and Doraemon fighting alongside Japanese soldiers.
In 2012, CCTV made a similar mistake by describing a Gundam plane as the latest fighter jet in the People's Liberation Army.
Gundam is the story of an imaginary battle between two empires pitting robots armed with cosmic weapons.
Here's the video. Watch closely at 7:24.
