Hong Kong police have made their biggest cocaine seizure in three years after raiding a suspected illegal drug production facility in the territory this week.

Acting on intelligence, police conducted an operation at around 9 pm in Sheung Shui on Monday, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reports.

Officers first intercepted a van on Kam Tsin South Road in Kwu Tung. Three men, aged 33 to 42, were arrested in the police operation, which saw police seize 140 kilograms of cocaine in the vehicle.

The officers then raided some premises in a village house nearby. Another 214 kilograms of cocaine, two kilograms of crack cocaine, as well as a batch of drug manufacturing equipment including an industrial dryer, an electronic scale and soda powder, were found.

It was estimated that the drugs were worth around HK$380 million on the market altogether.

Among the trio that had been arrested, one claimed to be the driver while the others claimed to be workers helping move the drugs.
