Free Covid tests for couriers
As more Hongkongers are switching to ordering food online and e-shopping amid the pandemic, concerns about the spread of virus through courser services have heightened.
In response, the Food & Health Bureau announced Sunday that the Government will provide a one-off free COVID-19 test to all delivery workers, including takeaway food couriers from January 19 to 31 via online booking.
Couriers need to make a booking for the free testing service via the community testing centre booking system, otherwise, the test will cost HK$240.
When they arrive at the community testing centre, couriers should present the identity document used for the booking and the SMS booking confirmation for verification, the government said.
During the service period, each courier can receive the free testing service once only.
